Content Creator / Director, Mark Stephen Williams
Mark Stephen Williams has won major industry recognition in four fields. First as a photographer. Then as a writer. Then a creative director. And finally, as a film director.
From the Walkley Awards and Nikon Press Photographer of the Year, as a photojournalist. And the Australian Writers and Art Directors awards and Dubai Lynx, as a writer. To the global 'Effie' effectiveness awards and Dubai's Broadcast Pro TVC of the Year awards in 2017, as a director.
Starting his career at News Limited as a photographer and occasional feature writer, Mark then made the transition to advertising and a move to Dubai. He spent over a decade working as a copywriter and Creative Director at BBDO, DDB, TBWA and Saatchi & Saatchi, on brands such as Etihad, Emirates, Pepsi and Mars. He then became Executive Creative Director and Partner at Traffic in Dubai, leading it to become the Middle East's biggest independent digital agency.
Effectiveness has always been at the heart of Mark's creative work. It was here he won a Guinness Record for the public response to his online campaign work for Unilever's 'Share a touch of love' clothing donation campaign for refugees in 2014.
Seeing the opportunity to bring together his visual and conceptual experience in content creation, Mark formed content agency, Renegades in Dubai, working on brands such as Dyson, Bentley, Toyota and Schweppes. Here he won a dozen industry awards in two years, including TVC of the Year for Canon and a global Effie with Unilever for the world's longest YouTube and Facebook film.
As founder and Creative Director at Four Quadrant Films, Mark is focussing on mentoring the new generation of creatives. He lectures at universities, speaks at professional industry workshops as a Canon cinema camera ‘Evangelist’ and is a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society.
